What a year for Reindeer Logistics! We look forward to a bright future as we begin a new year. But we’d like to pause for a moment to reflect on all our accomplishments in 2024 first. As the saying goes, “The only time you should look back is to see how far you’ve come.”
Let’s review some of the highlights:
People make all the difference
We could not deliver the real. personal. service. our clients have come to expect from us without a team of the industry’s most talented professionals. All companies claim that employees are their most valuable asset. Well, we really mean it.
In 2024, we evaluated our organizational structure and leadership in all key areas of the business. As a result, we brought in new experts and promoted other tenured individuals into roles where they would thrive. These included:
- July: Randy Sparks was promoted to Chief Financial Officer to further develop and execute Reindeer’s financial strategies in support of critical business needs.
- July: Reindeer hired Doug Oettinger as Senior Director, Premier Solutions, to build new products and services for our clients.
- July: Katie Weissert was promoted to Senior Director, Account Management to lead the account management strategy and continue to focus on service delivery.
- July: Jessica Clark was promoted to Senior Director, Customer Experience to help build and grow additional efforts focused on the delivery experience.
- September: Reindeer welcomed Aaron Caussey as our new Director, International Client Experience with a focus on developing an exceptional customer experience for international clients and customers.
- October: Grace Koski was promoted to Director, Operations, to help lead the expanding operations team.
- December: We made the decision to promote Michael Stevens to Chief Operating Officer, a brand-new position for the company. He is now responsible for overseeing the company’s entire services and operations. This new role was effective January 1.
- December: We hired Caroline Cate as our new Fleet Director, focused on all fleet-related services. She started in this role, also new to the company, on January 6.
More storage location, please!
Clients asked, we answered. On the heels of our flagship storage and service hub opening in Nashville in late 2023, we continued the momentum into 2024. Our network of storage locations across the country quickly rose to a total of 14 by May! Be on the lookout for expansion announcements at some of these locations in 2025! The current locations include:
1. Atlanta, GA
2. Boston, MA
3. Buffalo, NY
4. Chicago, IL
5. Columbus, OH
6. Dallas, TX
7. Houston, TX
8. Kansas City, MO
9. Los Angeles, CA
10. Nashville, TN (Southeast Mega Hub)
11. New York City Metro
12. Richmond, VA
13. San Francisco Bay Area
14. Seattle, WA
In December 2024, we signed an agreement to expand our presence in Northern California. The facility, which has a storage capacity of 250 vehicles, officially opened on January 2, 2025. This year, we have plans to open 5-7 additional locations in various parts of the country.
Investment in technology
To further enhance the experience for our customers, clients, drivers and carriers, we heavily invested in our technology systems during 2024. Not only do the upgrades make our processes easier, but they also feature additional security and compliance measures.
We migrated all our software to the cloud to improve performance, stability and security. The cloud is widely accepted as a more secure option than traditional data centers due to the cloud provider’s investment in security research, innovation and protection; continuous compliance assurance; resilience to threats and consistent security management.
As a result, our systems are Service Organization Control (SOC) 1 and SOC 2 compliant. SOC 1 is focused on the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls related to financial reporting and handling financial information safely. SOC 2 focuses more on the availability, security, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of sensitive information.
We also implemented new systems to provide integrated and flexible support to all business segments. This new system will enable seamless order processing and support customizations. We also launched a new Transportation Management System (TMS), which facilitates real-time tracking and updates, automatically uploads orders and offers a fully scaled digital bill of lading process.
Commitment to clients and customers
Last but certainly not least is our commitment to serving the needs of our customers and clients. Most, if not all, of the enhancements laid out above, were driven by pain points we evaluated from our clients across their supply chains.
Moving into 2025, we will continue this promise to seek out solutions based on the ever-changing world of auto logistics. We understand that each client has unique business goals, and working with Reindeer is one piece of a bigger operational puzzle. We strive to be the right fit for you and your business in every way we can. We look forward to working with you this year on whatever comes next. Happy New Year!
