Your car rides inside a fully covered trailer, protected from weather, road debris, basically everything . It does cost more than open transport. But for some vehicles, that extra protection is worth every penny and then some. Only you can decide what makes sense for your situation though.
How the process works
Never shipped a vehicle before? Here’s what to expect when you go with Reindeer Logistics.
1. Get your free quote
Everything starts here with the quote. We will need some basic info from you: your vehicle make, model, and year. What condition it’s in. Pickup and dropoff postal codes. When you want it picked up and delivered. Any special considerations you might have like aftermarket modifications or whatever.
It takes about 60 seconds.
2. Connect with your relocation coordinator
Once you book, you get paired with a dedicated coordinator and this is your contact person throughout the whole move. They handle scheduling, answer questions, coordinate with carriers, and keep you updated on everything. No automated phone systems, no getting passed around to different departments every time you call. Just one person who knows your shipment inside and out.

3. Prep your car
Before pickup day arrives, there are some things you need to do on your end. You or someone you designate will need to be there for an exterior inspection of the vehicle. You will walk around, note any existing damage that’s there, and sign a bill of lading. Then your car heads off to Toronto.
5. Final inspection in Toronto
We deliver seven days a week during daylight hours so we can work around your schedule. You will get a call or text at least an hour before delivery so you can be there for it.
Just like in Saskatoon, you will do an inspection when your car arrives in Toronto. Check it over, make sure everything is the same as when it left. Sign off on it, grab your keys, and you are done. Simple as that.
How to get your car ready for shipping
This part is on you, but it’s not complicated at all.
Wash your car. Makes the inspection go way easier. Does not need to be detailed or anything, just clean enough to see the exterior clearly is fine.
Check the fuel gauge. No more than one quarter tank of gas. You need enough for loading and unloading but not so much it adds unnecessary weight to the trailer.
Take out personal items. Everything needs to come out. Console, trunk, backseat, all of it. You cannot store personal belongings in the vehicle during transport.
Disable your alarm. Nobody wants the alarm going off randomly during transport because that is a problem. Turn it off and let us know if there are any special instructions for your vehicle.
Find your spare keys. You will give a set to the carrier when they pick up your vehicle. Keep your key fob or remote if they don’t need it to operate the vehicle.
Remove exterior accessories. Bike racks, ski racks, tonneau covers, bug shields, spoilers, all that stuff. Anything that is not permanently attached needs to come off before shipping.
Check your fluids. Canadian weather changes fast between Saskatoon and Toronto. Make sure coolant and antifreeze levels are good before your car hits the road.
