Finally, somewhere safe to put your car.
You know that feeling when you’re standing in your driveway staring at three vehicles and a garage that technically fits one of them, if you fold in both mirrors and hold your breath while you park? That’s half of central New Jersey right there.
And it’s not always as simple as just having too many cars. Maybe the township sent you a letter about the boat in the driveway. Maybe your HOA decided that the work truck with the logo on it can’t be visible from the street. And now you’re looking at daily fines if you don’t move it.
Maybe you’ve got a convertible or a classic car that only comes out between April and October. It’s sitting there all winter doing nothing but collecting salt spray and taking up space.
Or it’s a life thing. You’re deploying for six months, or traveling, or studying somewhere abroad, and leaving a car on the street the whole time isn’t an option. Leave it long enough, and the municipality might tow it. That’s a real thing that happens.
All of these are more common than people think. They just don’t talk about it much. And they all end the same way. You need somewhere to put a vehicle that’s secure and looked after, that’s not your driveway. Let us walk you through what that looks like around Morganville.
You already live here, so we’re not gonna lecture you about the weather. But what’s worth getting into is what it actually does to a vehicle that nobody’s paying attention to.
A car you drive every day gets maintained by default. You wash the salt off, you keep the engine running, you notice when something’s off. A car that’s just sitting there in a driveway or on the street? That’s a different story.
The salt from winter coats the undercarriage, and it stays there and works itself into every seam and crevice it can find. The battery drains slowly enough that you don’t notice until it’s dead. Fluids go stagnant. Jersey summers are humid enough that mold and condensation start forming inside the vehicle, which sounds extreme. But it happens more than you’d think.
Storage doesn’t change any of the weather. Outdoor storage, especially. But it changes whether someone is actually watching your vehicle and keeping it maintained while all that is going on. That’s the difference. A secured lot with active check-ups versus an unattended driveway where nobody checks on anything.
Our facility is at 158 Tennent Road in Morganville. If you know the area, you know it’s easy to get to from most of Monmouth County and not far off the Parkway or the Turnpike for people coming from further out. We’ve been operating here since 2024.
It’s a full-service outdoor lot. We want to be direct about that because it matters. Your vehicle is outside, not in a building. But the lot is secured with fencing, gates, camera coverage, and staff-only access Monday through Friday. Nobody gets near your vehicle without our people there. That part is non-negotiable for us.
And we don’t just park it. We charge the battery so you come back to a car that starts. Periodic engine starts ensure nothing locks up from sitting. Detailing if you want it. Maintenance if something needs attention. Pick-up and delivery if you don’t want to make the drive out. We’ll come get it and bring it back when you need it.
Capacity is about 300 vehicles with on-site EV charging for up to 150. Drop-off takes 15 minutes. Our staff walks the vehicle, inspects everything, photographs it all, and you get a documented checklist. Want to check on it? Email services@reindeerauto.com or come see it in person. When you need it back, call about an hour ahead of pick-up.
Outdoor is a secured lot, with weather exposure and controlled access. Covered adds a roof. Indoor is a full building. Climate-controlled adds temperature and humidity regulation. Each level up costs more. If weather protection is the number one thing you care about, indoors or covered does more on that front.
But here’s what we’ve seen after doing this for a while. The type of storage matters less than what happens to the vehicle while it’s there. We’ve seen people pay premium rates for indoor climate-controlled space where nobody touches the car for eight months straight. The result? A dead battery, tires flat-spotted, fluids gone. That’s not storage, that’s just abandoning a car in a nicer building.
What keeps a vehicle healthy is regular attention, engine starts, battery management, someone walking the lot regularly, and actually looking at things. That’s what we do and, for most vehicles, the trade-off works out.
If the only security is a chain-link fence and a padlock, keep looking. If there’s no staff on site and access is just a code that anyone could share with anyone, think about whether you’re actually comfortable with that. And if they can’t tell you what happens to your car between drop-off and pick-up, that’s really all you need to know.
Insurance is the other one. What does the facility cover if something goes wrong? What does your own auto policy cover during storage? And where’s the gap between the two? There’s almost always a gap. And most people don’t find out about it until they’re trying to file a claim. Five minutes of uncomfortable questions now. That’s all it takes.
Since the car is going to be outside, prep matters. No mandatory requirements from us, but these are all worth doing.
Change the oil. Old oil sitting in an engine corrodes things over time.
Fill the tank and add a stabilizer for anything over a month, which prevents condensation.
Tires bumped up a few PSI.
Wash the exterior and get a good wax or sealant on it. It makes a real difference for outdoor storage by keeping the UV and grime from working on the paint while it sits.
Take photos, every angle, every existing scratch, before you hand the keys to anyone. Documentation protects everyone.
Pretty much everything. Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, classics, RVs, boats. No restrictions on size or weight. If your neighbor’s been giving you looks about the trailer in the driveway, we can make that problem go away.
Deploying. Seasonal rotation. HOA. Overflow. Whatever brought you here, the process is the same. Secured lot, active maintenance, somebody actually watching the vehicle.
